Tornados Select Side
The iYRA All State Select Side rugby team for boys was established to create an environment for individual youth girls to compete and excel at higher levels of competition.
The All State Select Side coach selects high school club players who display special talent for the game of rugby for the Select Side team which receives special coaching and training to enable the team to compete against other All State teams and international teams that visit this country. It is the aim of the iYRA to take the Illinois All State team on annual tours to foreign countries to compete against other international teams.
The official name of the Illinois All State team is the Tornados and we trust our team will earn the recognition synonymous with this natural occurrence that is found in our State and become a powerful force within Interstate and International competition circles.
The current coach of the Tornados is Nolan Day.

Sean Mahon will be going to England at the end of March with the 7s AA Team! Sean has been on the U17 and U19 iYRA Tornado teams for 3 years and toured to England, Wales and Ireland in 2010. Sean will also join the Tornados on their 2012 Tour to Scotland England and Wales. Playing against tough competition at the All-State level helped prepare Sean to compete at the international level. The Tornados will have trial skill sessions starting in mid May. Be sure to "Friend" the Tornados facebook page Illinois Tornados 2012 for up to the minute updates/photos.

2012 Tour Tryouts -Tornado Tour tryout Dec 31, 2011 9:00am to 11:00am at Naperville Central High gym 440 Aurora in the gym. Bring your running shoes for inside drills and wear rugby shorts. Optional buffet lunch $11 to follow. We have 10 of the spots taken by 2011 Tornados in just one week but have 15 more to fill.
