For Parents & Coaches

The mission of the Illinois Youth Rugby Association is to organize resources and provide the necessary support for the youth of Illinois to learn and play the game of rugby in a safe and enriching environment. The achievement of this goal will provide boys and girls of varying abilities and physical capabilities the opportunity to acquire life skills critical to growth, thrive in a competitive environment and develop life long friendships inherent in the sport of rugby.

All youth rugby coaches under the direction of iYRA are subject to background checks conducted by USA Rugby and are expected to adhere to the iYRA Code of Conduct.

Regular coaching clinics are organized by USA Rugby for Parents etc. to learn the basics in order to form and coach a rugby team. More details can be found at USARugby.org.
