USA RUGBY COACHING CLINICS

USA Rugby will be holding two coaching clinics in suburban Chicago on August 2-3, 2008.  The clinics are "Introducing Rugby" and "Developing Rugby Skills". These coaching clinics are important for youth rugby coaches to attend and gain coaching certification from USA Rugby.  The Coaching Clinics will be held at the Hoffman Estates Park District Community Center and Ice Arena, http://www.heparks.org/facilities_ccia.aspx, 1685 W. Higgins Road, Hoffman Estates, IL.  To get started go to http://www.usarugby.org/information/default.asp?NavPageID=58323, and click on Coaches' Portal.  If you have problems registering contact secretary@iyra.org.    The Chicago Area Rugby Football Union are offering a limited number of scholarships to youth rugby coaches to pay for their registrations fee to attend these coaching clinics.  For more information and an application form contact CARFU at http://www.chicagorugby.com/template.php?sid=19

TOUCH RUGBY CLINIC

Under the guidance of the Arlington Stallions Rugby Club, the Palatine and Hoffman Estates Park Districts will be holding youth rugby clinics this June and July at Pebble Park in Hoffman Estates. These clinics are open to residents and non-residents.

Details are at http://www.palatineparkdistrict.com/summer08.pdf on page 58. Additional youth rugby clinics will be organized by the iYRA in other towns in Illinois during 2008 and these will be announced when arrangements are finalized with the local Park Districts. Currently we are in discussions with the Northbrook Park District to set up similar programs on the Chicago Northshore.
